In Prague, we are actively seeking a Senior Data Migration Achitect to strengthen our team dedicated to designing and implementing a migration framework for SQL and data structures from Teradata to Google BigQuery. This role is critical for the New Data Platform project, which involves modernizing the organization’s data warehouse ecosystem with cutting-edge technologies, including AI/LLM agents.
This is you
Proven practical experience with the design and implementation of migration frameworks or complex data tools.
Agentic / orchestrated approach to the solution, including AI/LLM agents, managed workflow, and iterative processing.
Ability to design the architecture and implement it hands-on
Strong knowledge of SQL (different dialects) – ability to analyze and translate complex SQL transformations.
Scripting experience in Python and/or Bash at production implementation level.
Experience with Git workflows, including branching, PR workflow, and auditability of changes.
Active knowledge of Czech or Slovak for everyday communication.
This is your role
Design the overall concept of a migration tool for translating SQL transformations and data structures from Teradata to BigQuery.
Design an agent-based approach combining:
Deterministic migration tools (vendor-provided) for translation.
AI/LLM layer for iterative SQL tuning and edge-case resolution.
Automated data validation with feedback loop (error → AI → re-run → validation).
Collaborate on the selection of appropriate tools and technologies, including experimental evaluation.
Define framework operating modes: batch and on-demand, including variants usable by business users
Implement the framework with workflow orchestration.
Integrate key components: SQL translation tools, data validation tools, and Git-based workflow for change detection, branching, and auditability.
Design and implement batch and on-demand launch modes.
Optimize the deterministic translation component before applying AI to increase translation accuracy.
Collaborate with BI and NDP architectural teams to align the framework with the target platform architecture.
Document all decisions, configurations, and create an operational manual for handover.
