In Malmö, we are actively seeking a Senior Java Engineer to strengthen our engineering team focused on building scalable, data-intensive backend systems. In this role, you will work on high-load solutions that process large volumes of data, develop advanced algorithms, and improve the scalability, efficiency, and freshness of data across the platform.
This is you
5+ years of commercial experience with Java development.
Strong programming and software design skills.
Deep knowledge of the JVM ecosystem, preferably with hands-on experience in Scala.
Experience with Spark, Scala, or Python.
Practical experience with big data ETL and data streaming.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to wear multiple hats and take a proactive, “do what it takes” approach.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Nice-to-have skills:
Experience with event streaming platforms, such as Kafka.
Ability to design and implement APIs and REST services.
Experience with NoSQL databases or applying Machine Learning / AI to large-scale data sets.
This is your role
Develop algorithms for matching, conflation, and anomaly detection.
Improve the simplicity, scalability, and efficiency of systems handling increasing volumes of data.
Optimize turnaround time to ensure data remains as fresh as possible.
Identify and propose improvements, including automation of existing processes.
Formulate requirements for new functionality and contribute to solution design.
Solve complex technical challenges with creativity, speed, and a strong engineering mindset.
