We are looking for an experienced Senior Integration Engineer / Architect to join a large-scale integration modernization program within the Telecommunication industry In Bratislava.

In this role, you will define and govern the target integration architecture, review migration approaches and implementations, establish engineering standards, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality integration solutions. You will work closely with engineering teams, architects, and stakeholders while driving modernization initiatives and supporting the adoption of AI-assisted software development practices.

This is you

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise integration, software architecture, or platform engineering.

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Camel in enterprise environments (mandatory).

• Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale applications using Java and Spring Boot and/or Quarkus.

• Proven experience designing and governing enterprise integration platforms.

• Experience with integration modernization and migration programs.

• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP), observability and monitoring, error handling, and resilience patterns.

• Experience with Kubernetes, containerized platforms, cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with integration testing, contract testing, and end-to-end testing strategies.

• Experience working with AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to review and validate AI-generated code and architecture artifacts.

• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience defining architecture governance and engineering standards.

• Experience with cloud transformation and modernization initiatives.

• Experience coaching engineering teams and leading technical workshops.

This is your role

• Define and evolve the target integration architecture for a large-scale modernization program.

• Review and assess migration approaches, proof of concepts, and implementation outputs.

• Validate architecture decisions, integration patterns, and engineering standards.

• Define Apache Camel development standards, guardrails, and best practices.

• Review integration designs and implementation approaches.

• Evaluate the quality, maintainability, scalability, and operational readiness of migrated services.

• Define acceptance criteria and quality gates for migration deliverables.

• Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

• Ensure consistency across integration services and development teams.

• Review and challenge migration outputs from internal teams, AI-assisted development workflows, and external delivery partners.

• Review AI-generated integration code and design artifacts.

• Identify opportunities to accelerate migration through AI while maintaining quality and compliance.

• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Expected Deliverables

• Independent review of migration POCs and early Apache Camel implementations.

• Architecture assessment and recommendations for the target-state integration platform.

• Definition of Apache Camel standards, best practices, and guardrails.

• Review of runtime, operational, and support models.

• Migration acceptance checklist and quality assessment framework.

• AI-assisted development guardrails and governance recommendations.

• Prompt and template standards for AI-generated code.

• Technical risk assessments and remediation recommendations.

• Coaching, workshops, and knowledge-transfer materials for internal teams.

• The basic salary component from 280 Eur gross per day - the exact amount of the salary depends on the actual knowledge and experience, qualifications and expertise of the candidate.
