Senior Embedded Linux Developer
Avenga is an international engineering firm helping businesses operate with AI at the core. With 6,000+ experts worldwide, we combine engineering expertise with AI-native thinking to turn ambitious ideas into real-world impact across industries, technologies, and markets.
At the core of the role
We are looking for a Senior Embedded Linux Developer who enjoys working hands-on with embedded systems and feels at home where firmware development, APIs, testing, and CI/CD come together.
In this role, you’ll contribute to the development and maintenance of software for embedded devices. You’ll develop new firmware functionality, design and maintain APIs used to test different parts of the devices, and work with the related build and test environment. This gives you the opportunity to contribute across several stages of embedded software development rather than focusing on just one part of the process.
You’ll work in a cross-functional engineering environment alongside professionals from embedded software development, CI/CD, QA and test automation, and systems and hardware integration.
This is an onsite position in Lund, Sweden, with office presence expected on all working days.

Hands-on development experience with C, Python, and Groovy
Solid experience working with Linux / Embedded Linux

Experience working with BitBake
Practical experience with Jenkins and Artifactory
Experience using Visual Studio Code in your development work
Upper-intermediate English or above

Experience writing unit tests
Swedish language skills
The impact you'll create
Develop and enhance embedded firmware, implementing new functionality in line with project requirements.

Maintain and extend existing software and APIs, keeping them aligned with evolving requirements.
Configure and run Jenkins jobs to support the development, build, and testing activities.
