Active Challenge 2026: Around the Globe with Avenga
Somewhere between a morning run before logging on, a swim squeezed in after a deadline, and a Saturday hike with no signal at all, something quietly remarkable happened: a community came together and decided to travel the world without ever booking a flight.
That was the idea behind this year's challenge. Instead of measuring kilometers for kilometers' sake, we measured them against something real — the actual distance between Avenga offices scattered across four continents. Every walk, run, swim, ride, or hike chipped away at that map. Every Strava upload moved us a little closer to the next city, the next office, the next colleague we'd never met but were now racing toward, one step at a time.
A challenge full of the variety
Five disciplines were open to everyone: walking, running, cycling, hiking, and swimming, and nothing stopped people from chasing more than one at once. Some leaned into the leaderboard, watching their position shift week by week on the Avenga Moves channel. Others showed up purely for the weekly photo contest, sharing a sunrise run or a muddy trail and letting the community vote for the most inspiring shot.
There was no wrong way to take part, only the choice to show up.
And show up people did. Across offices, time zones, and fitness levels, the same quiet thread ran through it all: people cheering for colleagues they'd never met, comparing notes on routes, and finding small ways to stay active in the middle of busy work weeks.
Together, we covered 38,523 kilometers. There was a finish line baked into the map — Córdoba — and while the collective effort carried us an enormous way, we have to admit, with a smile, that we didn't quite make it all the way there. A few kilometers short, which honestly only makes the next challenge more tempting.
More than a leaderboard
Strip away the prizes — the massage sets, the shakers, the healthy snack boxes for top performers across disciplines — and what's left is the part that actually matters: a workplace where people genuinely want to move together. Not because anyone is told to, but because there's a community on the other side of that Strava upload, ready to react, comment, or quietly move up a spot on the board to keep you motivated.
That's the kind of energy that's hard to manufacture and easy to recognize once you're part of it. So, thank you to everyone who laced up, jumped in, or got on a bike this past month.
If a workplace that moves — literally — sounds like your kind of place, our open roles are always just a click away on the Avenga career page.
