We’re reaching out with an opportunity to join a long-term project for our telecommunications client – specifically focusing on the development of an application for managing and configuring the SmartBox, a modern router with integrated smart home features.

We’re looking for an experienced Golang Engineer to join the team and contribute to the development of backend services, APIs, and integrations with smart home technologies. The project is stable, technically interesting, and involves collaboration with other developers and stakeholders.

This is you

• The ideal candidate should have solid experience with the Go programming language, as it is the main language used in the project.
• You should be familiar with working in a Kubernetes environment and using Git for version control.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and SQL databases is required.
• You should also have hands-on experience with gRPC and Protobuf for service communication, and a good understanding of OpenSSL.
• Experience with any cloud platform (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is expected.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki is beneficial.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and MQTT is an advantage.
• Any experience with video streaming or smart home technologies would be a strong bonus.

This is your role

• As a Golang Engineer on the long-term Telco SmartBox project, you will play a key part in developing a proprietary application that enables advanced configuration and management of the SmartBox router — a modern device combining connectivity and smart home features.
• You will be responsible for designing and implementing backend services, APIs, and integrations that power seamless smart home experiences for thousands of end users. 
• Your daily work will include:
  • Building and maintaining services in Go, the primary language of the project
  • Designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with SQL databases
  • Developing efficient inter-service communication using gRPC and Protobuf
  • Ensuring secure data handling with OpenSSL
  • Running services in a Kubernetes environment and managing code via Git
  • Collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to deliver new features and improvements
  • Deploying and maintaining solutions on cloud infrastructure, with the flexibility to work across platforms
• Your role will also give you space to contribute to smart home integrations, improve observability, and explore technologies like video streaming, MQTT, or Google Cloud Platform, depending on your experience and interests.
• You’ll be expected to take ownership of existing responsibilities with minimal ramp-up time and contribute proactively to a technically stable, long-term product used in real households.
