We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge applications of large language models (LLMs), optimization, and agentic workflows to tackle complex challenges in chemical systems and scientific discovery.

This is you

• Advanced degree (PhD, MS)
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience performing research at the intersection of science and AI.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex technical concepts.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Open-source contributions and/or publications in relevant conferences and journals
• Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks (e.g., Langgraph, Autogen, CrewAI).
• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), supervised fine-tuning, and/or reinforcement learning (RLHF, DPO, GRPO, etc).
• Familiarity with black-box or gradient-free optimization methods (e.g., genetic algorithms) for scientific discovery.

This is your role

• Collaborate within a confidential project team to apply LLMs, optimization, and agentic workflows to problems involving complex chemical systems.
• Translate project challenges into actionable research plans and integrate findings into milestones.
• Develop and deploy generative AI models for chemistry and materials science, including fine-tuning and post-training.
• Design and implement AI evaluation metrics tailored to chemistry and materials science tasks.
• Build systems for in silico assessment of novel molecules and materials
• Develop and implement novel AI-driven active learning algorithms to accelerate scientific discovery.
• Work in a collaborative software development and AI research environment to deliver impactful solutions.
